Aelora: Blood and Glory
The Abattoir is a grisly place. Six days a week, it operates as a slaughterhouse for the city, butchering livestock. On the seventh day, people come from across the town to sit in the galleries and watch fights on the killing floor. Of course, the owner doesn’t bother to clean the place until after the fights occur. So there tends to be blood, viscera, and a particularly foul stench that fills the place. It takes a strong stomach just to watch fights there. Actually fighting? Well, let’s just say that it’s hard to avoid your opponent’s fists when you’re busy emptying your stomach. The killing floor’s about 40’ by 60’, rectangular. It’s exceptionally slippery. If it’s been a slow week for the slaughterhouse, the owner enjoys oiling the floor to make up for it. There are pens around the edges, and one main entrance. These are all barricaded during fights, however. The galleries are about 20’ from the floor and have an exceptional view.
